Construction
The exterior shell of the SUNSET softboard comprises multiple layers of different types of foam positioned for strategic functions. The center deck of the board has soft, textured EVA foam for grippability, while the rails are a higher density, smooth EVA foam to reduce chafing and friction. The bottom of the board is completely soft with a slick polyethylene laminate skin for speed. Within the soft EVA foam shell resides our proprietary EPS core.
Performance
Because the SUNSET softboard’s core consists of a strong, professionally designed EPS core, it rides much like a traditional surfboard. Historically, softboards have been composed entirely of sponge-like materials and therefore flex and twist too much to be responsive. The SUNSET softboard carves and turns with the best of them and has enough overall stiffness to be ridden on the face of a wave.
Shape
Our designers combined the latest board manufacturing technologies with traditional surfing shapes so that the SUNSET softboard would perform in a range of conditions for riders of all levels. With the SUNSET softboard, now you no longer need to sacrifice performance for safety.
Style
Not only does the SUNSET softboard have a traditional surfboard shape, but it also has classic surfboard style. The timeless design is consistent with our mission to deliver a great board for all surfers, not just the surf school set.
